Custom Wax Castings and Molds for Candles

Candle Wax Casting and Molding with ComposiMold

How do you make truly unique wax molds that only you have?

Answer: Make your own custom molds for your candle making.

Making your Customized Wax Casting with a Reusable Mold Making Material

You can buy many different shapes for candle molds, but for something truly unique, you need your own special design, maybe even many special wax mold designs. With ComposiMold mold making materials, (ComposiMold), you are able to make as many unique molds as you want.

The key to ComposiMold molds for wax casting is chilling the ComposiMold mold prior to pouring in the wax. Place the mold in the freezer for several hours. Pour the wax into the molds and then place the mold and wax back into the freezer to cool it. The ComposiMold has a lower melting point than the wax, but because the wax cools at a faster rate than the ComposiMold heats, the ComposiMold does not melt as long as the wax does not take too long to cool.
The ComposiMold mold making material works by melting. It is melted in the microwave (or double boiler) and solidifies by cooling. When you have made all the wax casts that you want with one mold, it can be remelted to make other molds. Start by making or finding the object that you want to make as a wax mold. This can be a simple rounded shape or a complicated 3-D shape.

Use a PVA (White glue) and water mixture as a mold release.

Candle Wax into your Molds

Once the wax melted, pour it into your unique wax mold to fill the mold.

Cool the wax in the mold by placing in the refrigerator or freezer.

Peel the mold away from the wax as much as possible so you do not put a lot of pressure on the wax.
